Lamarr Lewis has a gift and he wants to share it. Several years ago took the initiative to reach out to me to see if he could be of service as a trainer for the Region IV Public Health Training Center. We worked together to develop ideas that could benefit the governmental public health workforce in the Southeast. We began with a webinar that Lamarr facilitated called "Healer, Heal Thyself: Tools for Wellness and Self-Care during the COVID-19 Pandemic." It was immediately clear that Lamarr has a unique ability to captivate and motivate learners. He blends intense preparation with improvisation. From there Lamarr worked to create a longer format workshop for the same audience called "Holistic Leadership: Championing Wellness and Modeling Self-Care for Your Team." This workshop was also well-received. As I've moved on in my career, I continue to recommend Lamarr as a down-to-earth, energetic, thoughtful subject matter expert and educator on all things related to mental wellbeing in the workplace.

Lamarr Lewis has strategically and energetically poured himself into the Mississippi P-ublic Health workforce in a post Covid environment. During a time when our agency is returning to focus on core public health functions, Lamarr partnered with us to strengthen our capacity as leaders, refine interpersonal communication styles, improve team dynamics, and equipped us with self-care tools. Lamarr is the epitome of a motivational speaker, as he captures your complete attention from beginning to end and leaves you looking forward to your next opportunity to glean from his knowledge. Beyond Lamarr’s captivating public speaking skills, I find his natural ability to be a team player most valuable. The ability to work well with others is a difficult skill to teach.
